A Wet Look At Climate Change

Hình ảnh
The term “Climate Change” has become popular but is not new to our planet. Our climate changes, sometimes dramatically, sometimes gradually, but it always changes. We hear about the wettest month on record, countrywide floods, record high and low temperatures, global warming...how do these changes in weather affect things around us? “A Wet Look at Climate Change” introduces the basics about moisture in air, which is the driving force for our weather. The subsequent chapters cover a range of everyday examples showing the impact these weather changes have around our home, garden and workplace. http://repository.vnu.edu.vn/handle/VNU_123/19005

Decision-making support systems: Theory & practice

Hình ảnh
This collection of work flows from author Udo Richard Averweg’s curiosity and long experience in the Information Systems (IS) field of decision-making support systems. It is not only a description of data and methods, but a commentary on theoretical constructs in different contexts, with a broad set of snapshots from Udo’s ongoing participation in the IS field. This book is a timely review and look into the nature and content of decision-making styles and methods. It is a valuable contribution from an author with a strong mix of practitioner and academic work, both locally and internationally. http://repository.vnu.edu.vn/handle/VNU_123/22226

An Introduction to Adobe Photoshop

Hình ảnh
When Photoshop was first introduced back in February of 1990 it caused quite a stir amongst the creative community. For the first time, designers and photographers were able to perform image editing tasks without resorting to high end equipment that cost double the amount. It started a revolution that continues to this day. Over the years there have been many other programs that perform similar functions to Photoshop. However, Adobe’s image editing software has seen off all comers and after 21 years, it is still the industry standard program in its field. http://repository.vnu.edu.vn/handle/VNU_123/22608

Banking: An Introduction

Hình ảnh
This book presents an introduction to private sector banking (as opposed to central banking). Banks are at the very centre of the financial system. They act as intermediaries between all the four sectors of the economy) and all other financial intermediaries. They are also at the very centre of the money market, the market for short-term debt and deposits, marketable and non-marketable, and the interbank markets. They also create the all-important payments system. The banks are unique in that they are able to create new money (by new bank lending), and this is so because money is whatever is generally accepted as the means of payments / medium of exchange: bank deposits (notes and coins make up a minor part of the money stock). Because of this, and other reasons (moral hazard, for example) banks are also inherently unstable, and require robust regulation and supervision. Also because of this, banks are the target of monetary policy implementation. http://repository.vnu

Adobe Photoshop for Intermediate Users

Hình ảnh
This is the second book in this series, written to help develop essential skills in using Adobe Photoshop. This book is for people who have an understanding of Photoshop’s basic functions and would like to build on that knowledge. We will build on the basic skills covered in the previous book and we will also be taking a look at several new tools, adjustments, editing methodology and workflow options. We will also cover two ancillary programs that ship as part of the Photoshop package – Adobe Bridge and Adobe Camera Raw. Photoshop is a large and complex program, and as such, requires practice and patience to develop the skills required to be an effective user. I encourage you to use these three books as a starting point and go on to develop your own workflows and techniques. http://repository.vnu.edu.vn/handle/VNU_123/22599
